Located in the northeast of the Guilin City, some 10 kilometers away from the center of the Guilin City, the Yao Mountain (尧山) got its name from a Yao emperor temple built in the Qin dynasty (221 - 207BC) on the top of the mountain. The main peak, the highest hill in Guilin City, has an altitude of some 910 meters. Tong Lai Guan serves affordable rice noodles in a no-frills setting. Although the store looks quite old due to its 60 years of history, the food is definitely worth a visit. Go for the marinated eggs (卤蛋), glutinous rice chicken (糯米鸡), and sui mai (烧卖) with tea.
