The plugin zynAddSubFX has so advanced possibilities, that it should be possible to emulate the sound of a piano -but.. Theory is one thing, to actually do it, is a very different thing. I find MDA-piano (on VST-list in wiki) to be a good piano, but you can as Steve said find soundfonts, and even VST-in-sampled pianos, in GB size, even free ones.

In LMMS, to use a VST you need to create a VeSTige track, you drag it to the track list from a list that can be accessed on the left sidebar. There you can load the VST in.. Based on what you are describing, it sounds like you are looking for a piano VST (virtual instrument). Keyzone is my go to one for the time being but it can be a bit RAM. LMMS stands for Linux Multimedia Studio. It is a very good open-source program that is used to create music tracks using sound files, predefined instruments, and sound effects. LMMS has versions for Windows and macOS in addition to Linux. Their website, of course, lists all of their features offered to users.

So say I play a G note on my guitar, to get the same in the piano roll I need to play an E. Three semitones lower. This will mean that if I import a recorded guitar track, I can't add.
