mame4all-rpi is an old an unmaintained MAME fork. It's only useful when using a Pi1/0, for it's speed. If you're using a Pi3B+, lr-mame2003 or lr-fbneo are recommended for arcade emulation. If you're having issues with ROMs, make sure you're using the right ROM set/collection for your emulator - see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Arcade/.
