Nope. Just destroy a whole slime biome at once and throw down some deodorizers. Sweep slime to farm into submerged storage. No need to remove the germs, just contain them. Farmers will get slimelung germs on their body, but that will do nothing. The germ is only harmful when airborne. 8 MGordit • 3 yr. ago r/Oxygennotincluded • 5 yr. ago Csonter Mushroom farming after mealwood So I have read it in a few comments and other places that people switch to mushroom farming by letting co2 drop to bottom of base in a slime biome or something and then plant mushrooms there. There's definitely pros and cons to using a dupe or not, farming takes up so much dupe time from fertilizing, harvesting, to sweeping I just prefer to automate it and not have a farmer. Also many of the better crops have such specific grow conditions I like to keep dupe interference out. BadgerDentist • 5 yr. ago It will take you a really long time to run out of slime if all you're using it for is mushroom farming. Sustainable farm slime has pretty high requirements, but it's possible. My notes from last week say you'll need: 4.50 Morbs/Puft (assuming 6.67 kg/cy PO2) 0.267 Pufts/Cap (assuming 25.5kg/cy slime) The process consumes an enormous amount of water and you don't really need that moral boost from making liceloaf in the early game. Just slap down a bunch of farm tiles with mealwood plants in a central area in your base, assign a dedicated farmer, and watch your dirt reserves. Phase 2 for food production will depend on what plants and animals.
