General Growth & Plant Notes My plant has taken on much of the body structure and look of the Phal. pulcherrima lineage but with the flower colour of violacea; it is growing very tall and leggy compared to other phals, and the spikes are also quite long. This is one I got as a New year's gift to myself the end of 2005 from one of the big box stores. It has 2 spikes when I bought it, and I was pleasantly surprised that it gave me 2 more when I got it to spike this winter. Unfortunately the flower color didn't come out well on these photos, the actual color is more yellow, and the pointilism stripes on the sepals is more distinct.
