16 Horsepower, short of Steve Taylor, returned in 2002 with Folklore.. Since the band's demise, the label has released two DVD-format retrospectives, and in 2008 released a two-CD set Live. 2008 reissue of Live March 2001, a two CD set which is a live recording of one of 16 Horsepower's classic and best recorded shows. Despite their official dissolution a few years ago, 16 Horsepower casts a long shadow that colors the gothic Americana genre today. Ex-members' bands (Woven Hand, Lilium, etc.) are engaging and critically lauded.
