The only Heroes that have a skill that can trigger this effect are the Highwayman, the Man-at-Arms and the Duelist, although several enemies have it as well. Effect Riposte is a Status Effects in Darkest Dungeon 2. Status Effects are now used as Tokens that are guaranteed effects upon use during combat. These are sorted as Buffs, Debuffs, Stealth, Unique and Special effects. Some effects come from Skills and Trinkets. Skills can now cause a variety of effects that are shown by tokens.

Ish.Darkest Dungeon has "riposte" which is a counter attack certain party members can use. This is a quick party build.

When a unit affected by Riposte is targeted by an attack, they will retaliate by attacking back to the original aggressor. In vanilla Darkest Dungeon, riposte skills have a small problem. Like any other effect in the game, Riposte is an effect, and effects stack with themselves unless something in the effect explicitly prevents this, meaning that using, for example, Duelist's Advance multiple times just to reposition your hero will result in said hero's ripostes dealing little to no damage.
