Being a novice at this, I am not even sure covering is an option with some pickups. The CC doesn't 'feel' as near as hot as a Dimarzio Super D, or even a Duncan JB. The regular custom feels like a juiced up PAF with more aggression. These have a serious mid spike. they're good in Strats for that point, a S/S/H. In a Les Paul I just feel like it's too much. The regular custom works better.
