I have a HTC one M8 which is an otherwise solid phone, and both OTG checkers I downloaded from Play Store say it should mount OTG fine. The USB Host, Manager, Device List are all working correctly. Still, the phone doesn't seem to even recognize that I am connecting a device via OTG USB. It doesn't mount, there's no notification pop-up etc. The difference is immediately noticeable: the e17K (connected to the HTC One M8 via a USB OTG cable) has a much more neutral sound, completely free of sibilance and every single part of the spectrum sounds just as it should. On the M8 without an external DAC, if I raised the volume, certain parts of the signal seemed to be "cut off" the higher.
