There are three main differences between the JK wheels and the TJ wheels. The First, and most important, is the Lugnut bolt circle is different. The TJ uses a 5 x 114.3 or 5 x 4.5 (they are the same) bolt circle. The JK uses 5 x 5 bolt circle.

2007 and Up Wrangler JK Wheels on a TJ or YJ

#1 · Sep 25, 2017 Ive noticed many TJ drivers who have JK stock rims mounted on their Jeep. The bolt pattern on a TJ is 5.45 and JKs use 5.5. How do you mount the JK rim on the TJ? Is there a special adapter/wheel spacer or is the difference so small that it's possible to use a 5.5 bolt pattern on the TJ? Reply Sort by Oldest first SurfKaster #1 · Jul 8, 2010 A co worker of mine has a TJ and was interested in buying my stock JK wheels and tires. They are 17'' Moab's with 32'' Goodyear SR-A tires with 26,000 miles. Will these fit without a lift? Also, he has the base 3.0something gears and a manual tranny. Will he drive ok with this setup? He doesn't do serious offroading. Tires cost what tires cost. The same size tire in different model and make only differ up to $30-40/ tire, so it's only max $150 savings. Beadlocks are beadlocks. Raceline are the only ones that repeatedly have 15% off. If you're looking for a 17" they have some good offerings in the $500 range/wheel. 1 Brad Sienna 2003 Sahara Save Share Reply Sort by Oldest first eagle223 524 posts · Joined 2011 #2 · Sep 25, 2012 You will need an adapter to fit jk wheels to a tj, the bolt pattern on a tj is 5x4.5 and the jk is a 5x5. What spacers will I need? I'm pretty sure they won't just bolt on my Jeep. TIA The Real Lxxtsy TJ Addict If you have some cursory knowledge of Jeep Wranglers you'll be quick to point out that JK generation (2007-present) rims do not bolt on TJ (1997-2006) Wranglers. And that's true, but the solution is quite simple and elegant. TJ Wranglers use a 5"x4.5" (5×114.3mm) bolt pattern rim, with -25.4mm of offset. While JK Wranglers use a 5"x5. I believe JK's are 5x5 while Tj's are 5x4.5 bolt pattern so you would need an adaptor. Reactions: MillenniumFalcon. Reply. Tomcat TJ Enthusiast.. TJ Enthusiast. One important thing to understand is that the JL uses a bigger size wheel lug nut, a M14X1.5mm. Not a huge difference to the 1/2" of the TJ or JK. Most all the wheel adapters I found on the internet were using a half inch lug nut to mount the adapter to the Jeep, and a half inch stud for mounting the tire to the adapter.
