Awesome DIY Mudguards. I recently decided to use a mudguard/fender on all of my bikes. Not only to stop the snow/water/mud spray from hitting me in the face, but also to help cut down on dirt and grit hitting my stanchions, seals, and headset. Since I have 5 bikes, I decided to give DIY a go using plastic file folders and they turned out really. To find a suitable mountain bike mudguard template choose one that are slightly wider than the tire to avoid friction with the wheels. For example, make a 35mm wide mudguard for one 32c wide roadways tire that is 32mm wide. Also, full-length guard will require enough cycle frame clevis space.
