They have a slightly different fragrance than typical Neofinetia but the flower shape is essentially the same as a typical Neo. Vanda falcata, formerly known as Neofinetia falcata, is arguably the first orchid grown as a house plant in Japan in the 1600s. It is commonly known as Wind Orchid or Samurai Orchid, as Shogun Tokugawa Ienari fell in love with the plant, and it is rumored that samurai would help in searching and collecting the plants from the mountains. 3,605. The Neofinetia community uses Kibana to designate a yellow flowered hybrid. It is not a clonal name as I had assumed. It is unknown when or what is in the background.
