#1 Lord Of Dorkness Feb 28, 2021 @ 1:48pm There was a lamp and infra-red vision implants in the original. Do vaguely recall both being power-hogs in the original, though. Hopefully that's toned down a bit in the remake given the greater focus on darkness. #2 SchnozBott Feb 28, 2021 @ 3:14pm Usage To use, press the appropriate Side Icon or "4". To adjust the lantern brightness, right-click on the Side Icon and select a level from the ITEM MFD . Versions Categories Community content is available under CC-BY-SA unless otherwise noted. The Head-Mounted Lantern is a hardware attachment found in System Shock. Vellrath Jun 30, 2016 @ 8:08pm. A small weak flashlight would be welcome that doesn't hinder aiming your weapon in hand. Until you boot things up and restore power to a certain area. In fact sometimes shadows cast by underpowered flashlights can add to the creep factor with the spooky shadows they cast. #6. #3 ZylonBane Feb 26, 2021 @ 11:05am The original didn't have a flashlight, it had a "lamp" that just illuminated a circular region around the player. I wouldn't be surprised if this gets changed to a more conventional flashlight in the remake. #4 Krotow (LV) Feb 26, 2021 @ 2:02pm

System Shock remake is “largely complete,” but the focus is now on console ports GamesRadar+
The Department of Maintenance is housed on Level 3 of Citadel Station. It has facilities capable of repairing an extremely wide variety of Station hardware. Numerous control, routing and access relays are located on this level, and certain robots recharge here between task assignments. This level has a distinctive gray-and-yellow color scheme, but tends to be dimly lit or dark in certain areas. The controller support of System Shock 2023 is not only a lackluster less-than-bare-minimum implementation, it's also buggy. There is no way to manage active cybernetics without opening the inventory, which does not pause the game. These include such things such as your flashlight (!) and high-cost energy shield (!!!).
