Avi Kaplan Avriel Benjamin Kaplan (born April 17, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter. He is known for being the former vocal bass of the a cappella group Pentatonix from 2011 to 2017. As a part of the group, he released five studio albums, won three Grammy Awards, and sold over six million albums. [2] [3] Sage and Stone, Kaplan's introduction to Avriel & the Sequoias, is inspired by and purposefully presents the full spectrum of his folk palate without ever abandoning its lush, layered vocals, intricate arrangements and tasteful acoustic performances. "Folk music is everything to me; it's where I come from; It's home," Kaplan explains.
