The Karl Marx Monument ( German: Karl-Marx-Monument) is a 7.10m (23.29ft)-tall stylized head of Karl Marx in Chemnitz, Germany. The heavy-duty sculpture, together with the base platform, stand over 13 meters (42 feet) tall and weighs approximately 40 tonnes. [1] On a wall just behind the monument, the phrase "Workers of the world, unite!" Officially called the Karl-Marx-Monument, the bust was designed by the Soviet sculptor Lev Kerbel, and the bronze pieces that comprise the wall—all 95 of them—were cast in Saint Petersburg.
