The G-SR-SE is a control pad while the g640 is a medium speed pad so the g640 is a bit faster.The G-SR-SE is affected quite a bit by humidity though and can develop a muddy feel if you live in a humid place. Out of the two I definitely recommend the G-SR-SE. Speed and stopping power is overall quite similar but the G-SR-SE is a little slower and smoother while the g640 is a little faster. Both are very good but the G-SR-SE is a much better choice because of one deciding factor, the durability.
