The Simca 1100 are a series of French compact family cars - mainly C-segment hatchbacks, but also a compact wagon and popular delivery vans - built for over 15 years by French car-maker Simca, from 1967 through 1982/1985. A twin of the most popular car in France, it was closely copied by Volkswagen to create the Rabbit and Jetta. Simca 1100 When Chrysler increased its stake in Simca in 1963 it inherited Project 928 in an advanced state. Engineered by Philippe Grundeler and Charles Scales the new car was an advanced front wheel drive hatchback with independent suspension on all wheels. The Simca was a front-wheel drive with a transverse engine and independent suspension with torsion bar suspension. The cylinder capacity was 944, 1118, 1204 or 1294 cc. And there was a Norev model of plastic that did not rust. The Simca 1100 was a pleasant, inexpensive family car. The Simca 1100 was once a top seller on the Dutch car market. A slightly enlarged version of the rear-engined Simca 1000 OHV four powered the 1100/1204. It was a willing if somewhat buzzy mill. And it developed a reputation for certain weaknesses in its upper regions. Nevertheless, despite being the smallest mill in this test, it was the third fastest with a 14.6 in the 0-60.

It offered lots of space and was sold over 2.4 million times. Despite the large volume of production, the Simcar 1100 is quite rare today. After the Chrysler takeover, the Simca 160 and Simca 180, as well as the Simca 1300 and Simca 1500 which resembled the Simca 1100, were developed.
