Rare Turbo Coupe: 1987 Subaru RX Jeff Lavery Subaru is known for building turbocharged hot rods, but that reputation is born out of recent models like the WRX and Legacy GT. However, back in the 1980s, Subaru was already out in front with offering high-performance models with turbocharged powerplants. The RX was a model of the third-generation Subaru Leone and they came in two-door and four-door versions. I have only seen a couple of other RX turbo sedans and that's it, ever.
