Asıl ismi "Uveymir" olup, "Ebû'd-Derdâ," künyesidir. Hicretin ikinci yılında İslam'a dâhil oldu. Ebu Derdâ'nın Duası. Ebu Derdâ'ya 'Evin yanıyor denildi.
