The Neo Geo ( Japanese: ネオジオ, Hepburn: Neojio), stylized as NEO•GEO and also written as NEOGEO, is a ROM cartridge -based arcade system board and fourth generation home video game console released on April 26, 1990, by Japanese game company SNK Corporation. It was the first system in SNK's Neo Geo family. #1 Hi everyone, The Neo Geo has a screen resolution of 320x224. For ports of Neo Geo games on systems capable of higher resolutions, such as KOF'97 (Sega Saturn), or KOF'99 (Dreamcast), are the graphics usually upscaled with some filter added? Or do they just use native resolution usually?

Note that these upscalers won't ever get the image anywhere near 4K/2160p. The OSSC, for example, will take a 240p output from the AES and scale it 4x (or 5x, if your monitor/TV supports it) to 960p. You will need to make sure your TV or monitor supports 1280x960 beforehand. The Neo Geo X (NGX) is a hybrid video game console manufactured by Tommo, licensed by SNK Playmore. Information about the Neo Geo X was first reported in January 2012 and later confirmed in March. The Neo Geo Pocket Color [a] ( NGPC) is a 16-bit color handheld game console developed and manufactured by SNK. It is a successor to SNK's monochrome Neo Geo Pocket handheld which was released in 1998 in Japan, with the Color being fully backward compatible. The Neo Geo has the ability to output a maximum horizontal resolution of 320 pixels. Quite a number of games have a reduced visible screen width of 304 pixels (8 pixels on each side removed). Interestingly, for some, the full graphics are still rendered there, however, they are intentionally overlaid with a black FIX layer.. The resolution of the IGS PolyGame Master is 448x224. By comparison, the Neo Geo is 320x224, and the "high-resolution" mode of the PC Engine can be as wide as 512x224. But these would all be displayed on standard 4:3 resolution monitors (or televisions, in the case of the Neo Geo home systems and the PC Engine). The Neo Geo console shipped with gamepads that were almost as big as the Mega Drive console Offering cutting-edge power and robust, easily interchangeable cartridges, MVS quickly found favour. Neo geo resolution ( english version ) Neo geo always displays 320*224. For example, Metal Slug is on 320*224 with 2 black columns of 8 pixels. So real surface of this game is on 304*224. ( we remove this two black colums of pixels ) That's why Metal Slug is on 304*224. The question is why the 304 pixels is favored when we can make 320 pixels ?
