Permalink 8/10 Heartfelt, nostalgic, and brimming with 80's charm, this film captures the realities of high school in a way that only a cis-het white boomer can. Throw in a transactional dare for sex, an expensive car in the hands of a drunken teen, and a healthy serving of character redemption, and you have the recipe for the perfect coming-of-age comedy, topped with exactly sixteen birthday candles.
