Tasting notes Kingfisher Beer Europe has reformulated its Bombay Bicycle IPA in a move designed to entice modern craft beer drinkers. The drink, which first hit the market in 2018, has been re-brewed in partnership with craft brewery Yeastie Boys (in which Kingfisher owns a stake).

Kingfisher's Bombay Bicycle uses new world hops such as cascade and chinook to give some citrus and tropical fruit notes to refresh the pallet, while its dry bitterness enhances the spice and heat of Indian dishes. The 4.2% ABV IPA is available to the on-trade in 50l kegs and 24x330ml bottles. Bombay Bicycle IPA launches in July 2018 and will initially be exclusively available within the Indian restaurant channel in the UK. Kingfisher said that the beer has citrus and tropical fruit.

Butcher & Gundersen has worked with the European division of the business - KBE Drinks - for many years as design and communications […] It's darker than a lager, almost a full on amber, clear, crisp to taste and slightly hoppy but not the joyful madness of a true IPA. It's not gassy so ideal for me, there's nothing worse than fizzy lagers to destroy your meal. So a nice very drinkable IPA if not a classic and hurrah it's a massive step forward for Kingfisher.
