Avon CG1000 Cantilever Sliding Gate automatic sliding gates
The term, cantilever slide gate, may refer to any number of gates, from ornamental picket styles to functional chain link styles, from those that require cantilever rollers to those requiring gate tracks and trolleys. All cantilever slide gates will share certain characteristics which differentiate themselves from other types of slide gates. Cantilever gates are an excellent choice for automation and access controls. For gate automation, the installation will need to be level and the gate will need to be able to freely slide in both directions with no obstacles or obstructions. Cantilever gates are unique because they don't roll on the ground. The gate is supported by a series of trucks (rollers) attached to two support posts on one side of the opening. The distance between these posts is usually equal to half the length of the gate opening. Two factors you should consider first when selecting a cantilever gate: Traditionally, a cantilever gate is 'sandwiched' between two top rollers and two bottom rollers and mounted on two posts as shown above. A leading edge wheel is not required in most cases due to its cantilevered design. Another type of hardware system other than gate rollers may be employed.

1. Assemble the gate frame as shown in the diagram. Layout the gate at the opening and mark the gate-post and latch post locations, and the track line posts based on the size of your gate purchased. The spacing of the track line posts are on the opening side measured exactly to receive the tracks without any seams between track bracket. 2. A cantilever sliding gate rests and rolls on a wheel on the front bottom edge of the gate with a track supporting wheels on the back edge. In contrast, a cantilever gate is held above the ground, moving via rollers running along the top and inside of the fence with wheels attached to a vertical concrete foundation. Space Requirements
