Cornwall is home to 12 lifeboat stations; their at-sea rescue services are said to be second to none and they have the largest fleet out of the counties in the UK. Lifeboat Days Lifeboat days are supported and held throughout the summertime. Depending on the current Covid restrictions this may not be possible this year. There are 14 lifeboat stations around Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly operated by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution with a fleet of 21 lifeboats. Lifeboat types include the most recent addition to the RNLI fleet, the Shannon Class All-Weather Lifeboat to the smallest Inshore D Class Lifeboats.

Port Isaac Lifeboat is situated in a 700-year-old fishing village, Port Isaac has seen lifeboats launching off the north Cornish coast for over 100 years. Situated in the attractive Fowey estuary, the lifeboat station has been operating for nearly 164 years and the crews have been presented with 14 awards for gallantry.
