47 Upper Gough Street City Centre Birmingham B1 1JG 0121 643 2852 The Craven Arms has an excellent yellow and blue tiled frontage advertising the long gone Holders Brewery. Holders was a medium sized Birmingham brewery and they commissioned architect Arthur Edward to rebuild the Craven Arms in 1906. It is a hard walk up the hill to The Craven, but well worth the effort. It has a beautiful exterior, retaining the tiling from when it was a Holden's pub; although the inside has changed and it no longer has the buzzer informing the postmen when their break was over. O.K. the changes have being even greater at the sorting office, not a postie to be seen at the Mailbox.
