Dartmouth Pottery, situated in the south Devon town of Dartmouth, was established in 1947 and is still operating. Their products are similar in many respects to traditional Devon wares. In 1997 they bought the name ' Honiton Pottery ' when that pottery closed. The Dartmouth Pottery was formed by Howard Koppenhagen in 1948 (production started in 1949) on a picturesque site at Warfleet on the west bank of the River Dart. In the early days they made some art wares and unusual items by contracts from other potteries unable to for-fill orders they had.
