Hoya thomsonii is a favourite Hoya species among many growers because of the dark green, stiff and hairy leaves with silvery flecks. It is a slow grower and will stay compact. A mature plant is easy to care and a frequent flower. Flowering can be promoted by lower temperatures and day and night temperature fluctuations. Take a 4-inch cutting from softwood, cut on a diagonal with at least two leaves at the top. The cutting should have at least two nodes for roots to grow from. Optionally, dip the cut end in the rooting hormone mixture. Place the cut end down in a glass of filtered water. After about four weeks, roots should appear. How to care for Hoya thomsonii. Light: Part sun, part shade. Place in a window with dappled sun or a spot in the middle of a room. Or directly in a window facing west or east. Watering need: Low demand. All of the soil should be dry before watering. If the soil is still moist, you risk giving this plant too much water which can make it start to.
