The classic wiener dog pattern most people imagine is black and tan, or solid brown. But they actually can be red, blue, cream, fawn and a number of other shades. Wheaten Dachshunds have a light golden coat with brown and white hairs throughout, giving them a wheat color. This is a rare Dachshund color mainly seen in wire-haired Doxies, although the color is seen in short and long-haired varieties more.
