The museum is owned and run by Croydon Council.. It is located on the upper ground floor of Croydon Clocktower, but also incorporates the Riesco Gallery, on the lower ground.

There is an excellent touchscreen description of the exhibits and helpful staff on hand. My favourite item was the lace panel depicting the Battle of Britain. This is a must see and truly wonderful. CROYDON MUSIC HERITAGE TRAIL. As part of This Is Croydon, the Mayor of London's London Borough of Culture, we are celebrating Croydon's rich music history, heritage, musical past, present and future with the unveiling of a new Music City Mural, a walking tour of publicly nominated and voted artists and venues, and a programme concluding with the Music Heritage Trail exhibition coming January. This Friday, August 18, at 2.30pm, the Croydon Natural History and Scientific Society is giving a special talk on artist Evacustes Phipson and his Croydon paintings and their legacy. It also holds a wide range of local history material including books, photographs, maps, newspapers and other items that illustrate and reflect the wide and varied history of. Museum of Croydon in partnership with the National Portrait Gallery, artist Kyam and Croydon Poet Laureate Shaniqua Benjamin explore stories of the Caribbean community and influencers who have made an impact on the borough.
