Originally built before 1576 for the merchant Sir Thomas Gresham, Osterley Park was bought by the banker Francis Child in 1713 and was remodelled for his grandson Robert in 1763-80 by Robert Adam. The entrance to this red-brick U-shaped mansion is dominated by Adam's double portico that links the 2 wings, an idea. Osterley Park and House is a Georgian country estate in west London, [1] that straddles the London boroughs of Ealing and Hounslow. [2] [3] Originally dating from the 1570s, the estate contains a number of Grade I and II listed buildings, with the park listed as Grade II*. [4]

Sarah Child lived at Osterley between 1763 and 1793 and was a passionate gardener, filling the space in front of the Garden House with fashionable and exotic plants, which have been faithfully recreated for visitors to enjoy. The garden features a series of beds, radiating out from the Garden House with paths twisting and turning through them. A short hop from central London by tube, Osterley is one of the last surviving country estates in London. Explore the House as it would have looked in the late 17th century, as well as the surrounding formal Gardens (including children's playtrail) and parkland.
