Created by the Slovak artist Matej Krén, "Idiom" is a floor-to-ceiling, hollow cylindrical tower made of overlapping books stacked on top of each other. A slit in the shape of a teardrop in the front of the tower allows visitors to the Prague Library to peek inside the art piece and be tricked by a very effective optical illusion. The History of the Book Tower. The Book Tower, also known as Klementinum Library or Klementinum Tower, is located within the Klementinum complex in Prague's Old Town. This historic complex was originally founded as a Jesuit college in 1556 and later transformed into a library and astronomical observatory. The construction of the tower began. A monastic order founded by Saint Norbert. At first, they built wooden structures whilst they constructed the Romanesque Basilica in 1149.
