Waterfall Country (or sometimes Waterfalls Country) is an English name often given to the Vale of Neath in South Wales. The tourist area around the head of the valley has an unusually large number of publicly accessible waterfalls. Sgwd Ddwli Isaf, also known as the Lower Gushing Falls, is a beautiful waterfall located in the Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales, United Kingdom. It is situated on the Nant Ddu river, which flows through the wooded valley of the Park.

A little further upstream the water cascades over Sgwd Ddwli Isaf and Sgwd Ddwli Uchaf (the Lower and Upper Gushing Falls) which after heavy rain, truly live up to their name. The Elidir trail, which starts in the village to Pontneddfechan, is a walk in Waterfall Country that is home to several spectacular waterfalls. Two of these impressive falls include Sgwd Ddwli Isaf (Lower Gushing Falls) and Sgwd Ddwli Uchaf (Upper Gushing Falls). The easy, family-friendly Elidir trail walk has two spurs. It can be found in the part of the Brecon Beacons called Waterfall Country.
Sgwd Ddwli Uchaf (Upper Gushing Falls) For the final waterfall on the Elidir Trail, you will need to head back along the river to Sgwd-y-Bedol and rejoin the path, heading upstream once more. A short distance further on, a small trail will branch off to your right leading you to the fifth and final waterfall on this hike - Sgwd Ddwli Uchaf. The first waterfall (Sgwd Ddwli Uchaf) is about 15 minutes down the trail. There is an optional short detour to see the impressive Sgwd Gwladus waterfall. You can turn around there or continue down to Pontneddfechan.

If you want to visit the final waterfall, Sgwd Einion Gam, it requires going off trail and navigating a couple of river crossings. How easy or hard this is will depend on recent rainfall. We were visiting during a long dry spell and it was very easy; we didn't even get our feet wet!
