Thomas J. Knight was a Union Soldier in Company H Wisconsin 50th Infantry. He was the son of John and Sarah Knight. He was the husband of Mary Jane (Cook) Knight (1849-1935). GAR Thomas Jefferson Knight was born on June 22, 1827 in Paris, Bedford Co., Tennessee. He was one of the earliest pioneer settlers of Upshur County, Texas. He lived here as early as 1836.
