Designated as an Earth-Kind rose because of its easy care and drought and disease tolerance. Flushes of lilac pink flowers cover this plant from mid-spring to frost. Caldwell Pink rose Double lilac-pink flowers put on a show, even at a distance NM Staff | May 2013 Name: Caldwell Pink rose Description: Successive flushes of double carnation-like flowers appear in mid-spring, last throughout the summer and well into fall. Flowers are lilac-pink and are not fragrant. The pointed foliage is small and neat. Caldwell Pink has been designated an Earth-Kind rose by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension for superior performance and pest resistance. Fairly drought tolerant, Caldwell Pink performs well in many soil conditions, i.e. thin, rocky, or clay-like. (Like all roses it prefers well-drained, amended soil). Caldwell Pink Rose features showy clusters of shell pink flowers with lilac purple overtones at the ends of the branches from late spring to early fall. The flowers are excellent for cutting. It has green deciduous foliage. The glossy oval compound leaves turn yellow in fall. The spiny brick red bark adds an interesting dimension to the landscape.
