This one came a little early: the Daytripper Easel from Prolific Painter. I've seen the easel in action at several plein air painting festivals over the last couple of years. Designed and built by my friend, artist Joshua Been, it seems like most of my painting friends at these events use one. May 11, 2021 #1 Has anyone here tried the Day Tripper easel? I like that each component is lightweight. I have to limit lifting even 5-pound objects, so the lighter the better. But I hear the customer service and shipping can be a nightmare. There's an artist named Jim Coulter, who makes these and sells the whole setup, including tripod and backpack for around $300ish. Similarly priced and designed is the Joshua Been "Daytripper" easel system. I hope this is helpful!
