Autumn Tree Q-Tip Painting - Free Printable Craft Activity for Kids I put this autumn tree poem printable together last year when we were homeschooling for Kindergarten, and I think I enjoyed it as much as my girls did. There is just something really calming about painting Fall leaves like this. Directions to make the Q-tip Fall Tree. 1. Print the tree trunk printable on white paper. 2. Prepare for a little mess. Cover your work area with newspaper to catch spills. Put an art smock or old shirt on your child. 3. Pour a small amount of red, yellow, and red & yellow paint onto the paper plate. White paper (Thicker paper like this works better for paint.) Washable Acrylic paints in fall colors (We used yellow, orange, red, brown and green.) Cotton Swabs Brown crayons Empty egg carton or paper plate to use as paint pallette Step #1 - Paint the Fall tree trunk and then the grass using quick and easy strokes with the Q-tip or a paintbrush if you want. Step #2 - Paint the leaves with a Q-tip using pretty fall colors. Dip the Q-tip in the paint color of choice, I recommend starting with the lighter colors first. We used metallic acrylic paints for the leaves only.

Instructions: Place your paint on a paint tray, paper plate, or (if you don't have either) you can use just a folded up piece of copy paper. Place a Q-tip in each different color, so that each color has its own assigned Q-tip. This helps a ton to keep the messiness at bay. Using the painting templates, doodle, or a plain piece of paper, dip. Directions: Download and print the free template. There are two farm animal sets to choose from. Pour choice of paint colors onto a paint pallet (or a paper plate works well, too). Dip the Q-tip into desired paint color. Dab the Q-tip onto each dot until every dot is filled in. Set aside to dry.
