Lego Cake Pops
Instructions. Bake a cake, let cool. Put pieces of the cake in a bowl. Mash it up mixing it with a can of frosting. Roll a small handful of mashed up cake into a ball, then carefully roll the ball on wax paper to make the Lego head shape. The Lego connector on top is a small round marshmallow. Preheat oven to 350 F degrees. Place all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Then add shortening, milk, and vanilla. Mix on low speed, while scraping the sides as needed. Next add eggs and mix well, (1-2 minutes). Place cake batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Stick a sucker stick into the bottom of each marshmallow head. (you can dip ¼ inch of each stick inot the candy coating before putting them in the marshmallows for extra adhesion). Dip each marshmallow head in the candy coating. Move quickly, making sure you coat the entire head then tap gently on the side of the pan to remove excess. Attach the M&M with some candy coating and place them in the fridge for 15 - 20 minutes. Add the sticks to them first and then dip the pops. Tap off the excess and allow to dry. Once they are dry, add the features. Lego head iced biscuits "What can you make that is Lego-themed?" a client asked. Well, I've made Lego heads cake pops, I said. And Lego lollies. She went for those and she also asked for Lego head iced biscuits and Lego block iced biscuits. When she received the package, she called me a 'genius'. Woo hoo! *ahem* *beams with pride* The bottom 2 layers are 9×13 yellow cake. The 3rd 9×13 cake was chocolate and I simply used a biscuit cutter to cut out 6 rounds. I placed them all on top with a dab of frosting. Then I did something crazy and heated my buttercream up to a pourable consistency. In theory this would have worked well if I hadn't have stopped to snap a quick.
1. Melt the candy melts in a small, microwave-safe bowl with deep sides. 2. Dip the top 1/2-inch of a sucker stick into the yellow candy melt. 3. Press a marshmallow onto the sucker stick. 4. Dip a Jujube candy into the yellow candy melt, then press on top of your marshmallow. Press the bottom end of the stick into floral foam to hold it. Buttercream LEGO Cake. With this buttercream LEGO cake in my corner, I already know my daughter's next birthday will be a huge success.
