The Northwest Florida counties are Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Franklin, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Liberty, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Walton, and Washington. The Florida Panhandle is the name given to Florida's northwest region, which consists of a narrow strip of territory that juts out from the main, peninsular part of Florida. During the 19 th century, the region was of vital strategic importance. It has also had the unfortunate distinction of being the site of deadly hurricanes. Nothing is like the Florida Gulf Coast. Each city is different and each city provides great food, fun, and spectacular views of the beach.
