City Designers must accurately draw parallel, perpendicular, and transversal lines to create your city map design. You are to design a city. No two buildings can occupy the exact same space. Use a ruler to draw straight lines, please no free-hand-drawing of these or points will be deducted. The city design plan will of course have all the necessary buildings that a city requires to be functional as well as any extra locations or buildings that you feel will make a more pleasant and enjoyable community as well as be inviting to seasonal tourists.

14 Q&A More from Sweeter than Pi Description This project is great to do after a unit on parallel lines and special angle pairs in geometry. The project tests students' understanding of congruent and non-congruent alternate interior and exterior angles, consecutive interior and exterior angles, and corresponding angels. Part 1: For part one of this project, you will make own street map for a fictional city (you must name your city). This city will consist of: 1. Six (6) streets that are parallel to each other. Each street should be named for reference. 2. Two (2) transversal streets. These should be named as well. 177 likes, 2 comments - clementinseedorf on January 3, 2024: "Opening on Fri 12 Jan from 6-9 pm: Mara Mckevitt - 'Val' In 2019 the artist and filmmaker Mara." OER Fellowship Project: City planning with parallel lines Created Dec. 4, 2023 by Megan Simmons Description This project introduces students to parallel lines and angles through videos, practice exercises, simulations, hands-on activities, and student presentations. Learning Goals This parallel city project is the perfect way for your students to practice and assess their knowledge of angle relationships between parallel lines and transversals in a fun, creative and artistic way!. Students will work in groups to create a map of their very own city that has to meet certain guidelines based on the following angle relationships: Meant for kids in grades K through 12, Parallel announced today it has raised a new addition of $6.125 million, led by Rethink Impact, a fund that focuses on female and non-binary founders. The. 1. Students will understand the definition of parallel lines; 2. Students will understand what it means for parallel lines to be cut by a transversal line; 3. Students will be able to construct parallel lines; 4. Students will be able to verify that lines are parallel using: a. Algebraic methods; b. Coordinate methods; c. Deductive proofs; 5.
