in FREE Patterns Here's a Pickle Dish block pattern inspired by the very first issue of The Quilt Life! Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims held their first TQL Cook-Off in April, 2010. The color was green and Alex chose a recipe for her dad's dill pickles as her challenge recipe. The Pickle Dish Free Quilt Pattern uses a quarter star block and a drunkard's path block to create a quilting template with unique movement. This combo of different quilt blocks makes for one lovely quilt.

I really like how this block turned out too. Really original and quite different but still in keeping with the pickle dish look. Love the scrappy look as well. Never thought to doing the pattern scrappy but it gives it a really great look. Wonder what it would look like doing it dcrappy in the original pickle dish design. I recently saw a BEAUTIFUL vintage pickle dish quilt on Pinterest and it made me want to know what this quilt pattern was. Thank you for the link.http. If you look at the main website under Free Patterns, you'll see Pickle Dish listed with a note that says "Requires the Double Wedding Ring set" which I would guess is one of Marti Mitchell's.
