My husband was quietly driving along some back roads. I was occupied in the front passenger seat watching out the window as the scenery went by. I noticed out of the corner of my eye that my husband was straining to look out my window. In the spring, around Easter, pine trees shoot up a 'sprout' at the end of each branch that turns into a cross each year. We were outside yesterday and I noticed that the pine trees in our neighborhood had begun their sprouts. Right now it is just the one shoot….but within the next few weeks crossbars will appear. Those trees will soon be loaded with small crosses for Easter Morning! It makes me wonder why some pine trees have such a glorious role. They stand tall and green as their blooms continue to grow.
