#2 · Oct 5, 2008 Twice in the last month I have had architect/engineer reject propress due to possible turbulence and or reliance on an o-ring seal. If you look at a 2" that has been pressed , they are pretty gnarfed up looking. The other sizes aren't too awful bad. Still not pretty. I think more and more it will be rejected. I personally don't see why propress is considered ok and sharkbites aren't. They both have an o ring seal and a means of keeping the pipe from popping out of the fitting. I much prefer soldering.
