After a little over 3 miles from crossing the highway, the trail arrives at the Tawlks-Foster suspension bridge and crosses back over the Methow River to continue trending down the valley for about 3 more miles. At this point the double wide trail ends at the highway, picking up on the other side as a gravel road. The Tawlks-Foster Suspension Bridge is a light- vehicle crossing of the Methow River near Mazama, WA. The design is based on a traditional suspension bridge concept with floor beam supported deck and lacking a stiffening truss. The bridge spans the ~200′ of the Tahoma Creek canyon and for obvious reasons is suggested to only hold one person at a time.
