The easiest route leads through the Reintal but the nicest one is the way through the Höllental. The area is realy crowded and not cheap. But the Zugspitze is the Germany's highest mountain and the way up through the Höllental is beautiful until 50 meters under the summit. As Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze has always held a certain fascination and is very popular with hikers. Since the first ascent in 1820, various routes have developed to the summit. The longest, but at the same time technically easiest, is the one through the Reintal valley with a distance of 21 km. The route taken by the first climbers from Partnachklamm to the Zugspitze has since been regarded as the normal route to Germany's highest peak. This requires an overnight stay at the Reintalangerhütte.. It is more demanding than the route through Reintal and less spectacular than the Höllental route. "The golden mean" of the three classic. My climb For me, this was a solo climb, in 2010. I was driving for many hours from Belgium and climbed the mountain without sleeping. My starting point was the car parking at Kreuzeckbahn lift station where I arrived after 2 a.m. Eine gute Entscheidung! Denn du kannst auch einfach auf die Zugspitze wandern. Ganz altmodisch, ohne irgendwelche Hilfsmittel. Und zwar auf dem Wanderweg durch das Reintal. Auf dieser Route für Fußgänger gelangen auch Otto-Normal-Wanderer ohne größere Bergerfahrung auf die Zugspitze.

Faktencheck Das der erste nachweisliche Aufstieg 1820 auf die 2962m über Null durch einen Leutnant des bayrischen Heeres (Josef Naus) gelang, ist dahingegen eher Expertenwissen. Während damals eine Besteigung der Zugspitze eine gefährliche und fast unmögliche Aufgabe war, ist in den letzten 200 (!!!) Jahren natürlich viel passiert.
