From Cacela Velha to Torre de Aires is a 25-minute drive over a distance of 21 kilometers. It is a tower of Islamic origin with a circular shape. Cacela Velha is a small coastal village in the Eastern Algarve, between Tavira (11 kms) and Vila Real de Santo António (13 kms). From Faro Airport it's a 45 minute drive. Driving to Cacela Velha by car is by far the easiest option. Simply follow the signs and just before you reach the village, park your car on the parking area on the left. Beautiful place! It's a must go with or without children. You can walk to it when the tide is low and take the boat when the tide is high. Expect long queues for the boat (€1.50 per person and children prices are slightly lower). No toilets or any other facilities so you must take everything with you. Cacela Velha is an old morish town (you can still see it in the names of the streets) overseeing a beautiful bay with a sand beach. You need a car. Before the village turn to the street on the right and then to the beach.The best is to come early to get a parking place not to far from the beach, then take the little motor boats to the beach on.
