Vincent van Gogh's Wheat Field with a Partridge is one of his most understated paintings and yet is also one of his most well loved. The lone partridge hovering over the field is visually arresting and skillfully draws the viewer to a central focal point (while at the same time allowing one to appreciate the masterful brush strokes of Van Gogh's field and sky).
