Act 1, Scene 1 A brief prologue in the form of a sonnet tells us that we're about to spend two hours watching a "star-crossed" love story that ends in death, but also reconciliation between the two conflicting houses to which the lovers belonged. Two men from the house of Capulet — Gregory and Samson — pick a fight with a few Montague men. Scene 1 After the feast, Romeo looks for Juliet and hides from Benvolio and Mercutio. Scene 2 Romeo stands below Juliet's balcony and they profess their love for each other. Juliet promises to send a messenger the next day to make sure Romeo is serious about marriage. 'Don't you worry about that.' 'Well here's your chance to show me,' said Gregory as two young servants dressed in the red and silver uniform of the Montagues came round a corner and on to the piazza.
