The heater is submerged in the stock tank, the fire burns under the water and the heat transfers through the metal box. Originally we used the heater and stock tank as a hot tub. The bottom section was horizontal and hat to be weighted down into the tank. The upper section was at about 30 degrees from vertical. Fits most steel, wood or concrete tanks.
